Over the past year, Handi-House has partnered with the ALS Society of Ontario to provide service to our clients and their families in the Champlain region (eastern Ontario). Handi-House manages our extensive loan pool, maintaining equipment and ensuring that all equipment is in good, safe working order before delivering it to our clients. ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) clients can have high intensity needs and equipment changes, adaptations and modifications can fluctuate due to the sometimes rapid progression of the disease. Handi-House understands this dynamic and recognizes that timely service is essential. The company is also sensitive to the emotional aspects of ALS and addresses this with compassion, providing education and support to our clients, their families and caregivers.

OTTAWA, March 30, 2006 – Canadian Retail Institute (CRI), the education arm of Retail Council of Canada (RCC), is pleased to announce that Handi-House Limited, a specialty retailer of mobility aids under the Handi-House banner as well as Solea, its fine comfort footwear division, is the first independent retailer in Ottawa to enrol its staff in CRI’s Retail Sales Associate (RSA) professional designation and training program. Six employees of Handi-House are currently working on their RSA designation and expect to take the exam in April 2006.
